INDSPRA Chapter Awarded 2021 NSPRA Mark of Distinction
(July 11, 2021) - The Indiana School Public Relations Association (INDSPRA) was one of only eight chapters recently awarded a 2021 Mark of Distinction by the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) at the organization’s national conference in New Orleans. The annual Mark of Distinction program recognizes exemplary chapters for their efforts to support chapter members and the national association's mission of building support and trust for education through responsible public relations that leads to success for all students.
Anticipating that the pandemic would challenge in ways never anticipated by INDSPRA’s members and the over 100 school districts they represent, the chapter pivoted to provide more intentional support and connection to its members by offering professional development opportunities to improve communication skills and by providing tools to support their health and wellness.
These seven initiatives - Spring “Survive & Thrive” conference, Fall Boot Camp, Wellness Wednesdays, regional director program, INDSPRA private members’ Facebook group, on-call crisis support, and partnership with the Central Indiana Education Service Center - INDSPRA was able to maintain a virtual support and professional learning network, serving its members with effective communication tools.
INDSPRA Executive Director Donna Petraits and Board President Maria Bond accepted the Chapter's Mark of Distinction Award during the Annual Meeting and Celebration of Achievement at the NSPRA 2021 National Seminar on Sunday, July 11, 2021 in New Orleans, LA.
